The High Mountain Meats Story

High Mountain Meats was born on the open road. Travelling between Utah and North Dakota, founder Carter Wilford saw firsthand the pressures facing traditional Western ranches. Passionate about conservation and the ranching way of life, he set out to build a bridge between exceptional, high-standard producers and people who care about where their food comes from.

To make that vision a reality, Carter teamed up with co-founder Eric, a conservation biologist and lifelong outdoorsman. Together, they partnered with select ranchers who share a deep commitment to sustainable, time-tested practices—creating a direct path from ranch to table.

When Carter’s sister Kara joined the team, the circle was complete. Bringing a passion for community and wholesome family nutrition, Kara helps everyday families connect with the dedicated ranchers behind their meals.
